Miso Glazed Mackerel Steaks



2 sachets of Yutaka Miso Paste

50ml water

20ml sake (rice wine)

1 ½ tbsp Yutaka mirin

½ tbsp sugar

½ tbsp soy sauce

Sliced ginger (keep some aside for the garnish)

2 fresh mackerel steakes

( Serves 2 )



  1. Add all the ingredients except mackerel.
  2. Cook them on a low to medium heat in a frying pan.
  3. When the flavours are to your taste, add the mackerel steaks and simmer with the lid on.
  4. When the sauce gets thicker (about after 10 minutes cooking), add sliced ginger on the top and serve with rice and boiled vegetables.
