Short grain brown rice (100%).
Storage:
Store in a cool, dry and dark place. Once opened keep bag sealed or place in airtight container.

Wash 250g brown rice and soak in fresh water for at least two hours. Drain well.
Place the rice in a heavy based sauce pan with 550ml fresh water. Put the lid on and bring to the boil over a high heat. When the rice starts to boil, reduce to the lowest heat and simmer fir approximately 30 minutes.
Remove the pan from the heat, leave the lid on for 10 minutes.
For seasoned sushi rice, use 500ml water to cook as above and then use 60ml sushi vinegar to season.
Brown rice originates from the same grains as white rice, except the outer layer of bran and germ are retained, making it a healthier alternative to white rice. With it’s delicious nutty flavour, you can add another dimension to many Japanese dishes that would normally serve with Japanese white rice.
