How To Cook
How to cook sushi rice:
- Wash 250g Koshi Yutaka Rice with cold water, stirring in a circle with your hand. Drain and repeat until water is clear, then soak in cold water for 15-30 minutes before draining it thoroughly. Soaking allows the rice to absorb water right to the centre of each grain for even cooking.
- Add 300ml of water and the washed rice to a heavy-based saucepan. Bring to the boil and simmer for approx. 12 minutes with the lid on.
- Turn off the heat and leave to stand with the lid on for 15-30 minutes, before serving.
