Koshi Yutaka Rice is a premium rice cultivated in the rich paddy fields using groundwater from Mekong Delta, the breadbasket region of Vietnam.
Every year we send off a premium blend of Japanese rice seeds for the best output and cultivate the rice under the supervision of experienced Japanese experts. To guarantee the best quality, we produce the rice using Japanese machinery, maintained by Japanese technicians.
Normally Japanese rice is harvested once a year, but the rich nature in the Mekong Delta enabled farmers to harvest Koshi Yutaka Rice three times a year, allowing us to bring the freshest possible rice to your kitchens all year round.
*Our rinse-free rice is prepared using our Ultra Micro Bubble process, gently removing bran to protect the grain’s natural umami often lost through hand-washing. The result is better-tasting rice that retains nutrients, delivers more rice in every pack, and reduces both time and water required in preparation.
How to cook sushi rice:
- Soak 300g of Koshi Yutaka Rinse Free Rice in cold water for 15 to 30 minutes and drain thoroughly. Soaking allows the rice to absorb water right to the centre of each grain for even cooking.
- Add 340ml of water and the rice to a heavy-based saucepan. Bring to the boil and simmer for approx 12 minutes with the lid on.
- Turn off the heat and leave to stand with the lid on for 5 minutes before serving.
