Create your perfect Katsu Curry for 2
Sweet, spicy and satisfying, Katsu Curry is one of Japans's most popular home-made dishes. With a distinctive blend of flavours, including coriander, tumeric, cumin and cardamom, it's perfect with panko-coated chicken or tofu, served alongside steamed rice or udon.
- Add ½ tbsp of vegetable oil to a large pan and stir fry ½ finely chopped onion for 5 minutes.
- Add 300ml of hot water to the pan, break up half pack of Yutaka Katsu Curry Sauce into small pieces and add to the hot water. Simmer for 7 minutes or until it thickens, making sure to stir constantly to prevent burning.
- Coat chicken fillets in flour, beaten egg and Yutaka Panko. Deep fry, serve on top of rice and generously pour curry sauce over the top. For vegetarians, replace the chicken with firm cotton tofu or aubergine.
