Panko is a Japanese-style bread crumb used in popular dishes such as chicken Katsu (deep fried chicken cutlet). This particular Yutaka frozen 14mm panko is made using traditional techniques by baking soft white bread, removing the crusts and coarsely grinding the bread into very large 14mm flakes. *These large airy flakes absorb less grease and stay crispier for longer than traditional breadcrumbs, making them perfect for deep frying. Panko is also widely used as a crunchy topping to add texture to salads, or as a binder for hamburgers and meatballs.
