Sweet and Sour Prawn Recipe

Ingredients

  • 400g King Prawns
  • 4 Tbsp Yutaka Soy Sauce
  • 40g Cornflour 
  • 1 Red Onion
  • 2 Red Peppers
  • 3 Garlic Cloves
  • 2cm Ginger
  • 1 Tbsp Caster Sugar
  • 90ml Malt Vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp Ketchup
  • 2 Tbsp Oil
  • Cooked Rice and Coriander (to serve)

Directions

  1. Chop the onion, pepper and garlic. Grate the ginger.
  2. Add 3 Tbsp of soy sauce into a bowl and add the prawns. Let them marinate for 20 minutes before stirring the cornflour in.
  3. Heat the oil in a large frying pan on a high heat. Fry the prawns for 1-2 minutes each side or until golden.
  4. Remove the prawns and set aside.
  5. Add the onions and peppers to the saucepan and fry for 1-2mins.
  6. Next, add the garlic and ginger and stir well. Sprinkle the sugar in and pour the vinegar into the pan.
  7. Stir in the remaining soy sauce and ketchup.
  8. Add the prawns back into the pan and coat in the sauce.
  9. Sprinkle with coriander and serve with cooked rice.
