Miso Butter Pasta

It's a Japanese take on Casio. e Pepe featuring signature umami flavours.

Ingredients

  • 200g pasta (spaghetti or your choice)
  • 1 tbsp Yutaka White Miso Paste 
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter 
  • 1 tsp Yutaka Mirin
  • 1 tsp sesame oil 
  • 1 tsp Yutaka White Sesame Seeds
  • 1 Spring onion, finely sliced
  • 1 tsp olive oil (for frying)

Directions

  1. Cook the pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain, reserving 1 cup pf pasta water.
  2. Melt the butter in a large pan over medium heat. Stir in the miso paste, mirin, and sesame oil. Mix well until the sauce is smooth and glossy.
  3. Add a little of the reserved pasta water to the pan to loosen the sauce, then toss the cooked pasta into the sauce, stirring to coat evenly.
  4. Heat olive oil in a small pan over medium heat.
  5. Serve the miso butter pasta in bowls, topped with sesame seeds and sliced spring onion.
