Ingredients
- 300g chicken thighs
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 small onion, finely sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp Yutaka Soy Sauce
- 1 tbsp Yutaka Mirin
- 1 tbsp Yutaka Cooking Sake
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp sesame oil
- 150g Yutaka Sushi Rice
- 300ml water
- 50g mixed salad leaves
- 1 small cucumber, sliced thinly
- 4-5 radishes, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp Yutaka Rice vinegar
Directions
- Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Combine the rice and water in a rice cooker and cook according to instructions. once cooked, let it rest for 10 minutes before fluffing with a fork.
- In a large frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
- In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, mirin, sake, sugar and sesame oil. Add the chicken to the pan and cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, unil the chicken is cooked through and slightly browned. Pour the sauce over the chicken, stirring to coat. Let it cook for another 1-2 minutes unilt the sauce thickens slightly.
- Add the sliced onion and saute for 3-4 minutes until softened. Add the garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- In a bowl, toss the salad leaves, cucumber, and radishes. In a seperate small bowl, whisk together the rice vinegar, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Drizzle the dressing over the salad just before serving.
- Serve the garlic onion chicken over a bed of rice, accompanied by the side salad. Enjoy!
