  • 1-2 Servings

Ingredients

  • 150g Yutaka Sushi Rice
  • 2 sirloin steaks (around 200g each)
  • 1tbsp Yutaka Soy Sauce
  • 1 tsp Yutaka Mirin
  • 1 pack choi, halved lengthways
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 spring onions, finely sliced
  • 1 tbsp chives, finely chopped

Directions

  1. Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Cook according to packet instructions and set aside to cool slightly.
  2. Season the steaks lightly with salt. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over high heat.
  3. Sear the steaks for 2-3 minutes on each side (or to your liking). Remove from the pan and rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly.
  4. In the same pan, add pak choi cut side down. Cook for 2-3 minutes until lightly charred and just tender.
  5. Mix the soy sauce and mirin in a small bowl. Return the sliced steak to the pan with the sauce and cook for 1-2 minutes, spooning the sauce over.
  6. Divide the rice between bowls and top with the pak choi and steak.
  7. Drizzle with sesame oil and scatter over spring onions and chives to serve.
