Ingredients
- 150g Yutaka Sushi Rice
- 2 sirloin steaks (around 200g each)
- 1tbsp Yutaka Soy Sauce
- 1 tsp Yutaka Mirin
- 1 pack choi, halved lengthways
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 2 spring onions, finely sliced
- 1 tbsp chives, finely chopped
Directions
- Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Cook according to packet instructions and set aside to cool slightly.
- Season the steaks lightly with salt. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over high heat.
- Sear the steaks for 2-3 minutes on each side (or to your liking). Remove from the pan and rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly.
- In the same pan, add pak choi cut side down. Cook for 2-3 minutes until lightly charred and just tender.
- Mix the soy sauce and mirin in a small bowl. Return the sliced steak to the pan with the sauce and cook for 1-2 minutes, spooning the sauce over.
- Divide the rice between bowls and top with the pak choi and steak.
- Drizzle with sesame oil and scatter over spring onions and chives to serve.
