Ume Chicken Skewers

Ume Chicken Skewers

Ingredients

  • 300g mini chicken breast fillets
  • 1 tbsp Yutaka Soy Sauce
  • 1 tsp Yutaka Mirin
  • 4-6 fresh shiso leaves, finely sliced
  • 1 spring onion, finely sliced
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp ume plum paste, to serve
  • Bamboo skewers, soaked in water

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, mirin, and sesame oil to create a marinade.
  2. Thread the chicken onto soaked skewers and brush with the marinade.
  3. Heat a grill, griddle pan, or BBQ to medium-high and lightly oil the surface.
  4. Cook the chicken skewers for 3-4 minutes on each side, basting with the remaining marinade, until they are golden and cooked through.
  5. Transfer to a serving plate and scatter with sliced shiso leaves and spring onion.
  6. Serve hot with a small spoonful of ume plum paste on the side for dipping.
