Teriyaki Burger

Ingredients
- 500 minced beef
- 4 tbsp Yutaka soy sauce
- 2 tbsp Yutaka mirin
- 2 tbsp Yutaka cooking sake
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 200g cabbage, finely shredded
- 1 large carrot, grated
- 2 tbsp Yutaka rice vinegar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp Yutaka sesame seeds
- 4 burger buns
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese
- 4 lettuce leaves
Directions
- In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, grated carrot, and sliced spring onions.
- In a small bowl, mix the rice vinegar, 1 tbsp soy sauce, sesame oil, and sugar until the sugar is dissolved. Pour this dressing over the vegetables, sprinkle with sesame seeds and toss well.
- In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, mirin, sake, honey, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
- Divided the minced beef into 4 equal portions and shape then into patties.
- Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add the beef patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until cooked through.
- During the last minute of cooking, pour the teriyaki sauce over the patties and let them glaze, turning the patties to coat them evenly.
- Lightly toast the burger buns and place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun.
- Add a beef patty on top of the lettuce, followed by a slice of cheddar cheese if using.
- Top with generous amount of cabbage slaw and close the buns.
