Directions

  1. Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Cook according to packet instructions, then mix with rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Allow to cool slightly.
  2. Add soy sauce and a few drops of orange food colouring to the rice, mixing well until evenly coloured.
  3. Take a piece of cling fims and place one third of the rice into the middle. Wrap and twist the film tightly around the rice to form a small ball. Uncover and set aside. Repeat to make 2 rice balls.
  4. Cut out small triangles and shapes from nori to create pumpkin faces, then gently press them onto the rice balls.
  5. Top each "pumpkin" with a small salad leaf to look like a stalk. Serve as a playful Halloween inspired sushi treat.
